Sai Abhipsa Dash

Rayagada → Bhubaneswar → the lab → the studio

I count things for a living.

I am Co-Founder and CEO of Offsage, an India-headquartered engineering studio founded in 2024. We do search, automation, product software, web, paid and media for startups and scaling teams, founder-led, with no account layer between the client and the build.

Before that I was a life scientist. My MPhil in Developmental Biology and Embryology followed an MSc in Zoology at the Asian Institute of Public Health, where I was first author on a survey of biomass and carbon stock across Bhubaneswar's public parks — forty-eight species, and a sapling class that is almost entirely missing. That paper has been cited thirteen times.

Between the two there was eighteen months in agency search, which is where I learned that most retainers fail for the same reason the parks fail: everyone is maintaining the layer that already looks fine.

I write about search and about the people side of work. My eBook Eternal Echoes: Love Beyond Boundaries is out now.

02 — Disciplines

What I actually do with a day.

The useful thing about this profile is the overlap. Most people have one domain. I have three, and they talk to each other — which is the whole reason a forest ecologist ended up running an engineering studio.

Research trained me to look at what is actually there before drawing a conclusion about it. Applied to a client, that mostly means auditing before building.
